In the late fall of 2007, tropical storm Noel brought the worst flooding in the history of Tabasco, Mexico, causing water to overflow dams, thus drastically damaging the economy of the area. Caritas Mexico, a Catholic Relief Agency, was on the scene to provide initial relief, and now continues to reactivate the local economy through creating seven family micro-enterprises, such as chicken, fish and pig farms, micro-food processing facilities for chicken, fish and pigs, and crafts and sewing shops.
